Roxette Bunny™
Roxette Bunny™ …

…. who says you can never have too much of a moment of cuteness.
Who is Roxette Bunny™? She’s my faithful companion, who used to maintain a website (which hasn’t been updated in forever at http://roxettebunny.com ).
She’s appeared in several photo shoots, including some that were shot at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront:
and at the church I used to go to — Pembroke Manor United Church of Christ, where she appeared with the Choir:
She also graced a Holiday Card with me!
Of course, she did enjoy her time in Nags Head, too.

Flying Delta to get back home.
You know it’s so good to be back home again.

A long (and long overdue) post about Roxette Bunny™

1Roxette Bunny™ is the cutest, truest, and sky bluest bunny that has ever existed. She hopped into my life in 2003, and made herself right at home. She’s a great travel companion, and being that she recently traveled to Virginia Beach with me, I thought it best to take you back in time… back to Kenton, Ohio, when they were having the “Little Chicago” night in 2003 as a fundraiser to help restore the Hardin County Armory.
My late grandmother (Katie Cottle), my mom’s teacup Chihuahua (“Miette”), and Roxette (in nothing more than a bow! Scandalous!)
Hopping uptown to explore the festivities.
Paying homage to fallen heroes at the Liberty Garden.
Here, Roxette pauses to pose on the steps of the Armory.
Gazing in the windows to see what renovations have taken place (I hope her eyes were better than mine — I couldn’t see through the curtain!)
Lending a paw to the Emergency Crew of the “B-K-P Life Squad”
Inside the Armory, Roxette causes a stir by invading the men’s room!
She took some time out to raise money for scholarships…
…and oversaw the cooking of 100 chickens.
Her eye was caught (as was mine) by the silver and blue computer case in the window….
….and was distracted by looking for carats. (Carrots? Well, DIAMONDS are a girl’s (and bunny’s) best friend. LOL)
Hopping to the Arcade in search of Family Fun.
Reading about the history of the courthouse.
In front of the courthouse. A Grand Old Building.
Here, we find Roxette eying the goods at Kenton Surplus.
All that Hopping gives tiny blue bunnies a great thirst!
Roxette wanted to catch a film (Showing? Spy Kids 3D, Tomb Raider 2, and Pirates of the Carribean).
Unfortunately, she couldn’t get someone IN the ticket booth to sell her a ticket.
So, she looks at a historic site (now a parking lot) and comments on how it would be a LONG way down.
Deciding what flowers to send Grandma. The building behind her used to be a laundromat and the Wards store in town.
Roxette proves that even small blue bunnies, when they pop out of the mailbox, can startle the mailman.
Even bunnies like to have fun, and sliding down the banister is just the thing!
Roxette was to go to New Orleans with me, to Florida, Nags Head, and other places… so you may see those photos at some point in the future.

1….not sunshine either.
It’s Roxette Bunny™!
On our way OUT of town evacuating from Hurricane Irene (2011). Fortunately, the storm deviated from its projected path, and missed Hampton Roads.
Tired of Natural Disasters, Roxette Bunny™ and I head back home. Glad it was an uneventful, unplanned vacation (evacuation), but also knew we’d be glad to be back home.
Roxette says next time either I let her consult her magic blue crystal:
Or we travel in style and FLY out of here. 6 hours behind the wheel made her one frazzled hare.

Yes, I have a blue bunny that has been part of my life for YEARS. She hopped in a decade ago, and has been part of my life ever since.
Roxette has a magic sleigh, and a variety of wardrobes to choose from — (sometimes she’s (gasp) adorned only in her blue fur, but… She’s always modest. 🙂 ) She used to have her own vehicle (first with RX BUNNY plates, then with the above plates).
Around Halloween she hangs out with a friend, “Pun No Kin”:
Roxette has, as a bunny, an affinity for carrots. Of course, she sometimes gets confused and thinks “CARATS”.
In fact, here, she’s surrounded by over 14 CARATS. 🙂
She has a large blue gem that she can use to look in on those she cares about:
She used to blog…and in fact, was interviewed! http://jenlars.mu.nu/archives/010548.html
Here is her adoptive family. From left: Rabbi T, Roxette, and Prob Lee Bunny.
Finally, the two shots that were taken of us, Christmas 2011:
and
Silver Blue, who may be the only person who has a bunny whose name is the same as the band that gave me my nickname!

…til some bunny loves you.
While out on walkies, this little cottontail decided to hop and say hello, before hopping away. It’s always amazing to me how skiddish these creatures are…until you start snapping photos. Then, they seem to relax, as they realize that you’re not going to do them any harm. I’m thankful for a zoom lens, to be certain!
There are days that I go out intent on photographing birds, squirrels, and nature… I have better luck finding houses, or the occasional yard ornament:
Silver Blue, who can NOT twitch his nose. Roxette Bunny™ has repeatedly attempted to teach me, and has given me up as a lost cause. 🙂
